a)7548261 b)8621754
c)7452861 d)2865614

Answers:
1: (b) given codes are: A=1,B=2,C=3
BASIS=2+1+19+9+10=50
Similarly COVER=3+15+22+5+18=63

2: (c) We know the colour of the human blood is ‘red’ and given that ‘red’ is called
‘yellow’. So, the colour of human blood is ‘yellow’.

3: (b) As DAUGH TER=> TER DAUGH

              12345   678=>  678 12345
Similarly, APTITUDE=>UDE APTIT

4: (d) The groups of second and third letters and fourth and fifth letters in the word interchange places in the code.

5: (d) Each letter of the word is one step ahead of the corresponding letter of the code.

6: (a) The alphabets are coded as shown:
R I P L E F
6 1 3 8 2 9
So, in PILLER, P is coded as 3, I as 1, L as 8, E as 2 and R as 6. Thus, the code
for PILLER is 318826.

7: (a) In the first and the second statements, the common code digit is 5 and the common word is old, so 5 stands for old. In the first and third statements, the common code digit is 3 and the common word is books so 3 stands for books.Thus in the first statement, 2 stands for are.

8: (b) The letters are coded accordingly P as 2, E as 4, A as 1, R as 5 and L as 3. So PEARL is coded as 24153.

9: (b) The same pattern as in above question is followed i.e. 4 will be written as 5,6as
5,8as 9,2 as 1 and 3 as 4.so,the code becomes 55914.

10: (b) In a certain code REASON is written as 621754 and TRUTH as 86983. Therefore,
T = 8; R =6; E =2; A =1; S =7; O =5; N =4
and hence the code for TREASON is 8621754
